adding a placeholder for a subtitle on the slide master?

I have a presentation template that I am setting up. In the slide master: it
includes the default Slide Title Placeholder (Title Area for Auto Layouts)
and the Body Text Placeholder (Object Area for Autolayouts). I want to
include an additional placeholder for a Slide Sub-title that a user can click
into and add text when working in a slide. The subtitles will be different
from page to page.
Anyone know how to do this? The only workaround I have is to copy and paste
a textbox onto every slide for a sub-title. If I do this however, when I
insert a new slide this text box will not appear. Does someone has a better
solution?
Thanks!

- Unfortunately the Master Slide does not have the ability to add additional
placeholders... you are stuck with the title and body copy options.
